Cr12MoV

Cr12MoV

ProductIntroduction

Cr12MoV is a high-bending strength and wear-resistant steel. It is a widely used high-carbon, high-chromium cold work die steel, belonging to ledeburite steel. It features good hardenability and favorable dimensional stability. It is suitable for manufacturing various cold work dies with complex shapes that can withstand high impact loads.

Product Feature

Outstanding hardness and wear resistance: After proper heat treatment, the hardness can reach HRC 60–65. With high carbon and chromium content, a large amount of carbides is formed, providing excellent wear resistance, making it suitable for molds subjected to severe friction.
High hardenability: Quenching can be completed by air cooling or oil cooling. Even for large or complex molds, uniform hardness across the cross-section is ensured, with minimal risk of uneven hardening.
Good dimensional stability: The content of retained austenite after quenching is relatively low. After low-temperature tempering, the mold exhibits minimal deformation, ensuring the dimensional accuracy of high-precision molds.
